FAQs

Stott and Atkinson – Yorkshire Wedding Photographer FAQs

Where are you based?

We both live in Leeds, Yorkshire but we’re available for weddings anywhere in the UK and Worldwide. Anywhere further than 50 miles round trip from our base in Leeds is charged at £0.45p per mile. If you need us to jump on a plane 😉 just cover airfares and accommodation. Here.

How much do you charge?

Our 2016 price is £1800 for a full day’s photography with both of us for our ‘USB digital package’. We also have an ‘Album package’ which is £2300. This includes a fantastic 12×12 Folio Leather Album with 50 pages. Full details can be found on our pricing page

I hate having my photo taken, what can you do about this?

You’re not the only one so don’t worry,  lots of people get nervous and hate their photo being taken. We have a very relaxed approach to capturing people looking their best. We are always game for a bit of innuendo bingo to get those belly laughs!

Can we print from the USB?

Yes you certainly can! The images are full size and don’t have watermarks or logos covering them, they are yours to print. Facebook and other social media are also fine to share on.

Do you stay for the whole day?

Our aim is to capture the entire day as a story. We start two to three hours before the ceremony for preparations and go right the way through to first dance and party shots of everyone throwing their best wedding dance floor moves!

Are you insured?

Yes we both have public liability and public indemnity insurance should anything happen.

Do you both take photographs?

We certainly do, we both take pictures all day. We don’t have a ‘lead photographer’ Tim covers the girl’s preps and Paul covers the boys preps. Having two of us limits the chances of missing anything.

Do you have back-up gear?

Yes. We both have back up cameras, flashes, batteries etc…

Do you provide my photos in colour or black and white?

We provide a mix of both. We carefully edit every image individually and select whether a photo will look better in colour or black and white.

Can my family and friends buy prints?

Yes, you will have an online gallery with a password, which you can give out to your friends and family.

How long will it be before I see our photographs?

We always aim to get a ‘sneak peek’ image up on our Facebook on the day where possible or the following day. All of your images will usually be online within 4-6 weeks. Portrait and pre wedding shoot images are usually ready after 1-2 weeks.

How many pictures will we get?

We don’t have a limit on the amount of photos we take per wedding we both love to capture plenty of details and wedding action. We select all the best images from the day and carefully edit approx. 400-600 images.

What equipment do you use?

We both use professional digital SLR cameras and lenses by Canon and Nikon (canon 5dmIIIs and Nikon D750s with a range of prime lenses 135mm 2, 85mm 1.4, 50mm 1.4, 35mm 1.4) Paul is a Nikon boy and Tim is a Canon boy. The results are the same its just personal preference.

Do you take traditional group shots?

Although our style is documentary and we like to blend in and capture things as they happen. We still think it is really important to get family portraits and recommend a maximum of 10 combinations as this will roughly take between 20-30 minutes depending on the size of the groups. (ushers or best man can be helpful to round people up and find people.

How do we book you guys and do you require a booking fee?

You can contact us via the contact form or give us a call (Tim 07812603276 Paul 07917411819) to discuss your day. We can arrange a no obligation meeting either to meet in person or Skype call at your convenience. Once your happy and you know you would like to book we ask for a £400 booking fee to secure your. The remaining balance is due the 1st of the month prior to your wedding date.
